Ahmad Rida Khan is no Muhaqqiq! – Shaykh Lu’ay


Question:

نشرت جزاك الله خيرا كتاب شرح عقود رسم المفتي بتعليقات الشيخ أحمد رضا خان، هل هو أفضل من تعليقات أبي لبابة؟

Allah reward you! The book “Sharh Uqud Rasm al-Mufti” has been published with the explanatory notes of Shaykh Ahmad Rida Khan. Is it better than the explanatory notes of Abu Lubaba?

 

Answer by Shaykh Lu’ayy al-Khalili al-Hanafi:

لا أعتقد حقيقة أنه أفضل من تعليقات أبي لبابة، وربما يغضب بعضهم لو قلت: لا أرى احمد رضا خان فيما يكتب محققا

Truthfully I don’t believe it to be better than the explanatory notes of Abu Lubaba. Perhaps some of them would even become angry if I were to say: I don’t consider Ahmad Rida Khan, in what he writes, to be a Muhaqqiq [someone meticulous in their research].
